The MEC of the Department of Economic Affairs, Small Business Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs, Mr. Sam Mashini has announced that the Free State Flower Festival will be launched in Parys this year.
The scale of the festival is huge and will be nothing Parys has ever seen been before and there will be an expected 50 000 visitors.
The festival will run over two days. On Friday the business part of the festival will be taken care of in the form of lectures, a flower forum, discussions, courses etc.
On Saturday the fun will start with an hour and a half parade, dancers, floats and music will parade through the main road of Parys.
Visitors will line both sides of the street and seating will be built all along the route.
After the parade, there will be many other activities for the whole day: dances, hot air balloons, river rafting, exhibitions, shows, stalls, and great food.
